Our pumped storage project focuses on the potential development of an innovative pumped storage hydropower plant in the Harz region of Germany. The project's objective is to integrate energy and water management by combining multiple functions: electrical energy storage, flood and drought protection, grid stabilization, and the sustainable use of existing infrastructure.
A key aspect of the project is identifying a technically and economically viable solution for connecting the planned power plant to the electricity grid. This includes evaluating the resulting requirements for power plant design, electrical and mechanical equipment, operational concepts, and overall project economics. - Assist in analyzing potential grid connection points and the associated energy system framework conditions.
- Contribute at the interface between grid integration, power plant design, plant engineering, operational concepts, and economic assessment.
- Research, prepare, and analyze information from studies, project documentation, presentations, and external sources.
- Support the preparation of reports, tables, and presentations.
- Prepare, document, and follow up on meetings and coordination activities with internal and external project stakeholders.
Your profileYou are a great fit for our team if you: - Are currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering, Renewable Energy, Power Systems Engineering and Grid Operation, Industrial Engineering (with a focus on energy systems), or a comparable field.
- Have an interest in energy storage systems—particularly pumped storage hydropower plants—as well as electricity grids and energy market topics.
- Possess a basic technical understanding of electric power systems, grid operation, or power plant and industrial plant engineering.
- Are able to conduct structured technical research and present complex information in a clear and concise manner.
- Are proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
- Work independently, reliably, and with great attention to detail.
- Ideally have gained some initial experience with technical calculations, power systems, the energy sector, or infrastructure projects.
- Have excellent written and spoken German skills; good English skills are an advantage.
