Your responsibilities
The Apprenticeship Programme
We take your training and development very seriously and invest heavily to provide you with all the tools you will need to be successful, as you progress through your career in the energy industry. The apprenticeship scheme offers hands-on experience and comprehensive training, allowing you to earn while you learn. Working alongside skilled professionals, you will gain insights into station operations, maintenance, and engineering, with opportunities to specialise in areas such as electrical, mechanical, or control & instrumentation engineering.
You will be following the Welsh Engineering Craft and Technician Level 3 apprenticeship standard with our training partner Coleg Cambria at the Deeside campus. At the end of your apprenticeship, you’ll have some impressive qualifications under your belt, including: Level 2 NVQ in engineering, BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Engineering and an NVQ Level 3 in an engineering discipline. Over and above the standard Uniper will offer the successful candidate a Level 4 HNC qualification in their engineering discipline.
Your employment will be governed by a fixed term contract with a duration of four years. You may have the opportunity to complete your apprenticeship prior to the conclusion of this term. This will be subject to your qualifications at the commencement of employment.
This will enable you to gain rounded experience that could open career opportunities including support for further education, even a degree!
