Your responsibilities
Lead physical natural gas trading across the Gulf Coast/Texas region, managing transportation, storage, and regional asset positions. Pipes include but not limited to GSPL, TGP, TETCO, Transco, TGT, NGPL, FGT, and Texas intrastates.
Build and expand a physical gas portfolio through customer engagement, asset development, and strategic market participation.
Coordinate cross‑region trading strategies with Midwest/Midcon and NE/Mid‑Atlantic teams to capture inter‑regional arbitrage and flow optimization opportunities.
Analyze market fundamentals including supply/demand trends, price behavior, transportation constraints, and regional dynamics to inform trading decisions.
Develop and execute strategies to capitalize on market dislocations, basis movements, and NYMEX spread opportunities.
Trade cash and forward markets to meet contractual obligations with suppliers, pipelines, and end‑use customers.
Support and lead scheduling team on all daily physical movements, actualizations, and communication supporting decisions, transactions, and agreements.
Optimize transportation and storage assets to maximize margin while managing operational and market risk.
Collaborate with origination to structure and execute transactions such as AMAs, capacity deals, and cross‑commodity arrangements.
Partner with analysts and traders to develop shared views on fixed price, NYMEX spreads, and regional basis markets.
Solicit bids/offers and negotiate physical gas purchase and sale transactions with counterparties.
Ensure accurate trade capture in the ETRM system to maintain daily P&L, exposure, and position integrity.
Support business continuity planning to ensure operational reliability of the Gulf Coast trading desk.
Maintain full compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and risk management frameworks
Your profile
Four-year degree is required, preferably in finance or accounting or some technical related field.
Minimum of 7 years+ of experience working in physical natural gas in a trading/asset optimization role or transportation/storage trading role
Financial Hedging/Position construction
Solid understanding of natural gas fundamentals, expert knowledge of interstate and intrastate pipeline infrastructure, production and storage assets in Texas and Gulf Coast
Understanding of MTM accounting, value at risk, a sound understanding of risk bifurcation and risk exposures generated from physical and financial gas trade types
Leadership skills, Team player qualities, entrepreneurial thinking, strong communicational skills
