Your responsibilities
As a member of the UK HR Team based at Birmingham Business Park, you will assist with Learning and Development activities to help promote, create and implement opportunities to support employee’s continuous development and growth. This will include working with the UK Learning and Development Manager, the UK HR team, Training Co-ordinators, internal and external stakeholders and our international L&D employees.
This placement offers a unique opportunity to gain practical experience supporting the design, delivery, and evaluation of learning activities across the organisation.
Key responsibilities for the role include:
- Playing an active role in L&D projects aligned to the UK strategy, contributing to continuous improvement, Early Talent development, Talent & Succession, leadership programmes and learning metrics.
- Supporting and where required, owning, the coordination of learning programmes and events, including hosting trainers and delegates, tracking attendance and liaising with training providers to ensure high-quality and effective delivery.
- Support activities associated with apprenticeships, graduate, and undergraduate programmes to enhance early talent and upskilling development. Including specific undergraduate activities which you will also be part of.
- Assist with communications, events, and engagement activities across the business to continually promote internal and external offerings.
- Work with stakeholders across HR and the wider business to understand learning needs.
- Produce materials such as PowerPoints, guides, and reports to support L&D processes and delivery.
- Offering broad support for UK HR team meetings, and event organisation.
This role, combined with the business exposure you will gain within an international energy company, will serve as a solid foundation for your future L&D/HR Career. There will also be an opportunity to learn/get involved with some general HR activity as and when required.
Your profile
We're looking for someone who can bring a flexible, confident, enthusiastic approach. There will be a lot for you to do but you’ll have a dedicated team of experts around you, people who'll be happy to share their knowledge and experience with you.
The ideal candidate will:
- Possess or be working towards a relevant degree level qualification in Business Management, HR or Psychology.
- Be enthusiastic, passionate and inquisitive with the dedication to achieve a future career within L&D/HR.
- Be results oriented to deliver the right thing, on time, with quality and accuracy.
- Have a willingness to take on new and varied tasks and able to prioritise and organise own workload.
- Understand the importance of maintaining confidentiality.
- Be comfortable working in areas of ambiguity where processes may not yet exist, with the ability to recommend efficient new processes.
- Be confident in using Microsoft packages, especially Excel, Word and Powerpoint.
- Have experience of working with AI (MS CoPilot) desirable but not essential.
The duration of the placement will be 48 Weeks and we are flexible on the start date for the right candidate.
